pattern recognition–

sometimes it’s easier to daydream of the end than sit through now,
like finding satisfaction in saying ‘you’ll be sorry when i’m gone’

July’s lunar eclipse looked like shit on everyone’s Instastories
Who just wanted to show they cared about naturally occurring phenomena
The earth’s shadow casting itself out onto the turning full moon
Becomes a shaky reddish blob barely visible on a cracked phone screen
At the same time “we’re having such a Melancholia moment”, friends whispered in the park
It sounded like wishful thinking
Because everyone knows what happens at the end of that movie

sitting and grazing in the grass, it’s itching our ankles
flies hovering around our sticky eyes
all of us are waiting
